Other Activities in the Lake District for non-riders
If you're a non-horsey partner, or have just had enough of riding for the day, there are lots of other activities in the Lake District:
Fishing
There is great fishing on our privately owned stretch of the river Mint, just a two minute walk from Mill Raise.
Walking and Cycling
There is plenty of room to store bikes at Mill Raise. We are surrounded by footpaths and ideal cycle routes; many of our horse rides would be appropriate. The Dales Way, Longsleddle and the famous Kentmere Horseshoe are all close-by.
Golf
There are three golf courses and two driving ranges within a couple of miles of Mill Raise.
Skiing
Kendal has a fantastic dry ski slope; you can hire all of the equipment and I believe there is also a mogul run for the adventurous!
Leisure Centre
On the outskirts of Kendal there is a sports facility covering all the other sports you can think of!
Theatre and Cinema
The well known Brewery Arts Centre has a great new three screen cinema complex; shows a good variety of theatre productions and also has a very good restaurant and bar.
Eating Out
Kendal has a good selection of places to eat. The cuisines I can remember are Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Thai, French, pub meals, and a selection of take-away outlets, KFC, McDonalds, etc.
Climbing
The highest indoor climbing wall in Europe is only 2 miles away from Mill Raise.
